An audiobook player that’s truly yours

If you self-host Jellyfin — the free, open-source media server — you already own your audiobook library. Audiofin gives it the player it deserves: a native SwiftUI app built only for audiobooks, with none of the clutter of a general media client. Point it at your server, sign in with your Jellyfin account, and listen.

How it works

Listening in under a minute

If your Jellyfin server is running, you’re three steps from your first chapter.

  1. Enter your server address

Point Audiofin at your Jellyfin server, e.g. https://jellyfin.example.com — custom ports and self-signed certificates you trust work fine.

  2. Sign in

Use your regular Jellyfin username and password. Your session token is stored securely in the iOS Keychain.

  3. Browse and listen

Pick a book and press play — online, or offline with downloads. Your position follows you everywhere.

FAQ

Questions, answered

What do I need to use Audiofin?

A Jellyfin media server with an audiobook library, and an iPhone or iPad. Jellyfin is free, open-source software you run yourself — on a home server, a NAS, or a machine you rent. Audiofin is the player; your server holds the books.

Does it work on iPad?

Yes — Audiofin is a universal app that runs natively on iPad. The interface is designed with iPhone in mind, so it’s not yet tailored to the larger screen, but everything works.

Is it free?

Yes — completely free, with no ads, subscriptions, or in-app purchases.

How do I join the beta?

Public beta sign-up is opening soon — once it’s live, a Join button will appear here at the top of the page. Have questions in the meantime? Reach us from the Support section below.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Download individual chapters or whole books, and they play with no connection to your server at all — positions and played-status are kept locally and sync back when you reconnect.

Which audio formats are supported?

MP3, M4A/M4B, AAC, and FLAC play natively. For anything else, Audiofin falls back to Jellyfin’s built-in transcoding.

Is my data private?

Completely. Audiofin talks only to the server you point it at — there is no developer backend, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking. Read the full privacy policy.
